Windows Mobile Smart Phone Support

AXIMCom is excited to announce Windows Mobile support (WM 6.0, WM6.1 and WM6.5) at all products of the MR series. For example, HTC Touch Diamond, HTC Touch Pro, HTC Touch 3G have been proved to work with AXIMCom Mobile Routers.

After the HSPA+ support, AXIMCom achieved another exciting function to broaden the scope and the compatibility of different wireless broadband technologies. Windows Mobile owners can attach their handsets to AXIMCom Mobile Routers. Other laptops and PCs are able to share the bandwidth over the handsets instantly!

Only few steps enable such exciting support:

Execute the application ,"Internet Connection Sharing", at the Windows Mobile handsets. Then, click "Connect".
Attach the handset to the AXIMCom Mobile Router by a USB cable.
Go to the web management at AXIMCom Mobile Router (http://192.168.1.1:8080/)
At "WAN Type", select "Windows Mobile based handset WAN", and then click on "SAVE".

Enjoy the instant broadband sharing!

AJAX+SVG = AXIMCom Experience

It is always a technical challenge to design interactive and informative user interfaces in the embedded systems. The reason is, in terms of the computing resources, the embedded systems don't have as many resources as what PCs have. For example, the memory size, the storage size and the CPU clocks are the little portion of what PCs have. However, the user interfaces are the souls of the products. The user interfaces of AXIMCom products reflect the beautiful mixes of simplicity and functionality.

After a huge amount of the development efforts, the unique AXIMCom graphic user interfaces (GUIs) are featured in all of the AXIMCom products.

AXIMCom GUIs are mainly based on the following two technologies:

AJAX

AJAX is a hot topic! But AJAX in the embedded systems is rare because of its high consumption of the computing resources! However, AJAX appears in all of the AXIMCom products! AJAX technology is used to provide the interactive information. For example, the real-time network traffic, the signals of the 3G USB modems and the storage usage are all displayed by AJAX technologies.

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics)

SVG is an advanced feature of the modern web browsers. (For example, FireFox, Opera, and Google Chrome all support SVG. IE needs a SVG plugin.) It can render the high quality pictures inside the browsers. SVG is used by AXIMCom GUIs to provide the MRTG diagrams, the session diagrams and the traffic odometers.

With AJAX and SVG, users are usually impressed by AXIMCom when they first see the GUIs. Furthurmore, the interactive and informative GUI features bring users the whole new networking experiences.

Huawei E161 and E169u (ChungHwa Telecom)

AXIMCom proudly announced that the latest Huawei E169u and E161 are officially supported by all of MR series products. E161 is very popular in the college student population in Taiwan. E169u is famous in its HSUPA support.

This is an excellent example of how AXIMCom committed to the customers and provides a variety of the USB modem supports.

HSPA+ Support

AXIMCom launched the latest HSPA+ support in all MR series products. In order to support the high speed wireless bandwidth, AXIMCom developed the native NDIS mode for all HSPA+ USB modems. Compared to the traditional serial data mode, AXIMCom MR series (with the native NDIS mode) are easy to catch up 21Mbps of 42Mbps max bandwidth of HSPA+.

The following is the comment from one of the AXIMCom MR-108N users in Australia:

I am very impressed by AXIMCom MR-108N with Telstra Next-G service (HSPA+). AXIMCom MR-108N provides the same HSPA+ data download bandwidth as what I got when my HSPA+ modem is directly attached to my laptop. Now the abundant bandwidth can be shared over 802.11n WLAN easily.

The first picture is a live product demo of AXIMCom MR-108N at Hong Kong. The live HSPA+ broadband sharing was demonstrated in a local exhibition.

AXIMCom MR series bring the broadband sharing everywhere without the location limitations of the DSL and cable modems. Also, with the latest HSPA+ support, AXIMCom MR series narrow the gap between the wireless WANs and the fixed-line WANs.

HSPA+ has been available at CSL (Hong Kong) and Telstra (Australia) now. More and more telcoms are on their ways to provide the HSPA+ services.
